The development process of the new Fable game is going very slowly due to the lack of experience in the Playground
Earlier last year, Microsoft officially revealed the new part of the Fable series during its conference after waiting for years.
Even Xbox chief Phil Spencer emphasized in an interview earlier that Fable fans should have patience and full confidence in the developer studio for Playground Games.
Despite this, many players are still concerned about the progress and quality of work from the developer studio for the game, because the original game developer British studio Lionhead was closed during 2016, when the series was one of the most famous games and Microsoft exclusives.
To learn more about the development of the game, an interview was conducted with Fernandez through the Spanish magazine Vandal with the former developer of Ninja Theory studio and Tequila Works studio, who also worked with Playground Games in the game Fable.
Fernandez revealed some details and mystery surrounding the development of the new Fable game, and confirmed that the studio had some difficulties in adapting to the development of an open world game “Action RPG” where you do not roam in luxury cars at 200 mph, and added:
Playground Games is highly organized and production driven. Every two years they release Forza Horizon, which has a rating of over 90 on Metacritic.
However, they lack people with knowledge of how to implement this game in an open world in which the way you control a character and their actions is completely different from what you have in a racing game,
And at the technology level, you have to develop animation, scripting, and a search system. Traveling by car at 300 km/h has very different requirements than walking in the countryside.
Playground has a spirit to do more, they are slower to progress when it comes to something more ambitious like Fable.
