Epic Games is losing the fights!

Epic Games is one of the biggest companies on the gaming field. It’s known for the gaming community by their free-to-play Battle Royale game Fortnite.

Also, Epic is known for the game developers by its most used game engine on the modern games Unreal Engine. But lately Epic Games is facing some issues with Apple at the first place and steam.

Epic Games and Apple’s fight

Epic Games, Inc. v. Apple Inc. is the case name started by Epic games against Apple in August 2020 in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California because of Apple’s in-app purchase restrictions, in fact, Apple wants to sew up the in-app purchase process to get its own 30% for each ingame buying process. 

So, Epic Games totally refused this policy and have bypassed this restriction by implementing the payment process on their game Fortnite.

Epic Games and Steam fight

Since Epic games have launched its own store, it is actually spending the last two years Fortnite’s item shop money incomes .

However, the company managers are trying to make epic games launcher a competitor to the most known online games store Steam by sharing over 100 exclusive deals and free game giveaways, thanks to the big Apple’s legal fight with Epic Games, we discovered that Epic is spending more than $400 million. 

But on the other hand, Epic said in its end-year-report that their player base has spent $700 million, although this amount of money doesn’t really go 100% to Epic, the game developers also have their own have their own part of this $700 million. This makes Epic games on a bad situation.
