Take-Two Interactive is one of the biggest companies in the gaming industry that owns a handful of studios and mega companies like 2K and Rockstar and today in a press release, the giant announced the acquisition of Dynamixyz, which includes a team of animation veterans.
In the press release (via Daniel Ahmed), Take-Two Interactive announced that it has fully acquired Dynamixyz, a top face animation company that was founded in 2010. The company offers many different services such as motion capture, face analysis, and more. All of these services will now be exclusive to the publisher and its studios.
Over the past decade, the two companies have worked together on several Rockstar projects such as Red Dead Redemption 2 and 2K on NBA 2K21, and the studio has a role in Love, Death & Robots and films such as Avengers: Endgame. In case you were wondering about the price of the deal, unfortunately it was not disclosed by the publisher.
According to the statement, the acquisition is a move to invest more in the capabilities of the in-house studios and support existing studios in the company. We don't expect that we will see the name of the studio a lot, but we will certainly see its touches in upcoming projects from Take-Two Interactive studios such as the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI, especially because of their previous work on Red Dead Redemption 2, as we said above.
